These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the developer of PaySmart ("we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the PaySmart iOS application (the "App") and the website at paysmartapp.net.
By downloading or using PaySmart, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
PaySmart is a personal finance tracking tool that helps you manage credit card balances, debt, credit utilization, and payment due dates.
PaySmart is currently available for iOS only. Availability on other platforms is not guaranteed.
This is the most important section on this page, so we'll be plain about it.
A reminder may fail to reach you for reasons outside our control — your device is off, notifications are disabled, iOS suppresses or delays the alert, a due date changed at your issuer, a linked account failed to refresh, or a date was entered incorrectly.
We are not responsible for late fees, interest charges, penalty APRs, credit score changes, or any other consequence of a missed or late payment. Please treat PaySmart as a helpful second set of eyes, not as a replacement for your issuer's own statements and alerts.

If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian before using the App.
Free tier: PaySmart is free to download and use for up to 2 accounts. The free tier is not time-limited — you can use it indefinitely at no charge, with no ads and no account registration.
PaySmart Pro: A paid subscription ($9.99/year as of the date of these Terms) that unlocks unlimited accounts, debt payoff projections, and additional Pro features. Pricing may change; a change applies only to renewals after we've given you notice, never retroactively to a period you've already paid for.
If a Pro subscription lapses, your data is not deleted. The App returns to the free 2-account limit and additional accounts become read-only until you renew.
PaySmart offers optional bank linking through Plaid Inc., a third-party provider. This feature is entirely optional — all core features are available without linking any bank account.
If you choose to link a bank account:
We take privacy seriously. All data you enter into PaySmart is stored locally on your device. The App does not transmit, collect, or store your financial data on our servers.
Because your data lives on your device, you are responsible for your own backups. If you delete the App, reset your phone, or lose your device without a backup, we cannot recover your information — we never had a copy.
Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on what the App collects (short answer: nothing), what the website collects, and how your data is handled. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
You agree not to:
PaySmart displays information based on what you enter manually, or — if you opt in — data synced from linked bank accounts. We make no warranty that the information displayed is accurate, complete, or up to date.
You are responsible for verifying any financial information displayed in the App against your official account statements. Do not rely solely on PaySmart for financial decisions.
The PaySmart app, including its design, code, content, and trademarks, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that any data displayed will be accurate or complete; that any reminder will be delivered; or that the App will meet your specific financial management needs. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF PAYSMART — INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LATE FEES, INTEREST, PENALTY RATES, OR CREDIT SCORE IMPACTS.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS ($25).
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold PaySmart harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may update PaySmart from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App (or any feature thereof) at any time, with or without notice.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that affect Pro subscribers.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or via email if you have provided one.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, and is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App — including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
In the event of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights, Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of that claim. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and PaySmart agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas, except that either party may seek relief in small claims court where eligible, and except where applicable consumer protection law in your region requires otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale.
