Here's what we collect, what we don't, and why our policy is the shortest honest one you'll ever read.
That describes the app. This website is a separate thing — like most sites, it uses basic visitor analytics and is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Section 6 spells that out.
PaySmart ("we," "our," "us") is an iOS application for tracking credit cards, debt, and payment due dates, and the website at paysmartapp.net. We're an independent app developer, not a financial institution, credit bureau, or data broker.

What the PaySmart app collects: nothing. The app does not collect personal information, financial data, usage data, or any other information from you.
All data you enter into PaySmart — account names, balances, limits, due dates — is stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself. If you have iCloud backup enabled, that data may be included in your own encrypted Apple backup under your Apple ID, which is between you and Apple.
The app does not collect:
We never ask for your full card number, CVV, PIN, or online banking password. Please don't put them in a notes field.
One exception worth naming plainly: if you email us, we keep that email so we can reply to you. That's the only personal information we hold, and section 8 explains how to have it removed.
PaySmart offers optional bank account linking through Plaid Inc., a third-party provider. Bank linking is never required to use PaySmart's core features.
If you choose to link a bank account:
We use linked-account data for one purpose: showing you your accounts and reminding you about them inside the app. We do not use it for advertising, resale, or credit decisioning. If you prefer complete privacy, simply use manual balance entry — you'll have access to all core features without linking anything.
The PaySmart app does not include:
The only third-party code in PaySmart is used for optional bank linking (if you choose to use it) and Apple's own iOS frameworks, which are subject to Apple's privacy policy. If you've opted in to sharing analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymized crash reports containing no personal information — you can turn that off at any time in iOS.
PaySmart Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies to transactions made through the App Store.
We receive only confirmation from Apple that a purchase occurred, so we can unlock Pro features on your device. No financial data is transmitted to us.
The app and this website are different things, and we'd rather be straight with you about the difference.
paysmartapp.net uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages people read. It sets cookies and collects standard web data such as approximate location, device type, browser, referring page, and pages viewed. It tells us how many people visited the pricing page. It tells us nothing about your accounts, balances, or anything inside the app — the app does not report to it.
You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google), which keeps standard server request logs; see the Firebase privacy policy.
Because we hold no app data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. To delete all your PaySmart data:
If you want to erase data without uninstalling, you can use the "Reset All Data" option in the app's settings. If you've linked a bank account, disconnect it in the app and revoke access at my.plaid.com. And if you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, write to info@paysmartapp.net and we'll remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK GDPR, and similar state laws.
In practice, PaySmart holds very little to exercise those rights against: your account data is on your device, not with us. Where we do hold something — an email you sent us, for instance — contact info@paysmartapp.net and we'll respond within the time frame the applicable law requires. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law, and we never have.
Data stored on your iPhone is protected by iOS device encryption and your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Connections to our bank-linking provider use industry-standard TLS encryption. No system is perfectly secure, but the most effective protection we offer is architectural: we don't hold a central database of your financial accounts, so there isn't one to breach.
PaySmart is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
If we ever make material changes to this privacy policy — particularly if we were to begin collecting data (which we have no plans to do) — we will update the app and post the revised policy here with a new "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
